Major automotive advances of the twenties included four-wheel brakes, safety glass for windows, and pneumatic air-filled tires – to mention just a few. Eighty years later it is easy to take for granted the major advances that took place in automobile engineering during the 1920’s, as these are now everyday features on today’s vehicles. However, many modern day car manufacturers are revisiting and implementing design and engineering features that were first invented and used on 1920’s cars – hybrid petrol-electric engine systems are just one example! I use an old Toshiba netbook with Linux for taking to class and it runs octave(MATLAB) fine for 90% or more of the work you do. At home I have a Dell desktop that was only $400 and it runs everything I need like a champ; MATLAB, MathCAD, Texas Instruments software, Minitab, and whatever else I need. Anything you need to run that will use tons of memory will have a software license that cost more than your ‘gaming ‘ computer and you will need to use it in the computer lab. Simulation software like Aspen or ChemCAD or some of the FEA software.

You can spend a fortune in tools. So keep in mind that a tool should help you save time and money. Many tools only make your job a bit easier and you can do without them. Others not only help you work faster, but prevent you from damaging components. Use your best judgment when adding tools to your toolbox.

Just over the weekend, a car at a Ken Garff dealership in Orem, Utah mysterious caught fire. It was given a little mention on the news here, with people wondering if someone was trying to vandalize vehicles on the lot. According to the news, the local police don’t think it was a case of arson, and that’s where the whole issue gets interesting.

While display sizes are not as crucial, the screen resolution is important. A higher screen resolution will allow more area for multiple windows. 1920×1080 pixels is the most recommended because it is the 1080p true HD quality. Laptops, videos, and movies these days are coming in 3k, 4k quality. So, 2k is the bare minimum.Automotive

It has a vertical sensitivity of between 2mV and 10V / div. And this is also a USB device which can be synced with your PC using a cable, so you can get access to the onboard waveform storage. It also has the automatic measurements you’d expect as well as FFT.

Apply a small amount directly on the first part you will glaze (a few drops is enough), then use the applier with gentle pressure to rub and smear the product evenly on that section of the car, working square foot by square foot. When the applier feels too dry to continue, add a little bit more product, but only use a few drops each time. When you are done smearing the product, let it sit for a couple of minutes. Now use a clean and very slightly damp micro-fiber cloth to clean it off. Repeat the process with the other parts until you are done with the whole car.
