We made plastic injected parts. Little tiny plastic pellets which are stored in gaylords, or big cardboard boxes, get fed into the machine where they get heated up thus melting the pellets. They then get forced into a mold to make a part. There are many different molds in order to make many different parts.

A common fuel pump relay has four electrical terminals or pins sticking out of its base. The terminals in an automotive relay hook up to an internal coil, possibly one or more resistors or diode, and one or more switches or contacts, depending on the particular configuration.

Although the amperage battery drain test has been a popular and reliable technique for some years, it is difficult to implement on many late model vehicles. Many of these models have several computer modules that remain online for 30 minutes or more after you’ve shut off the engine and removed the key from the ignition switch.

Two things I’d love to see on this device that it doesn’t have: it only has a single lead for input, which limits you, and it doesn’t have USB connectivity for syncing with your laptop or PC. But I do understand: the price is low and the device was built for portability and on-the-spot diagnoses; it does those tasks admirably!

In order to understand this, let’s look at a simple cooling fan motor circuit. If you look at the diagram you will see the circuit consists of the battery, relay, temperature sensor, wire, and a control, usually the engine control module. When the engineers designed this vehicle they calculated the amount of resistance in the wiring and the amount of current or volts of electicity the cooling motor will use when running, and using a fancy mathematical calculation they determined that this circuit is going to use about 11 amps of current or flow of electricity under normal operating conditions. Because of this they have installed a 15 amp fuse in the engine fuse box in order to protect this circuit.
